My Korean Beauty Skincare Routine!

Did you know that Korea is the best place for skincare?! I really had no idea until I moved here and now i’m totally bought in to their skincare routine. I have PCOS and one of my unfortunate symptoms is pretty bad acne, especially around my chin where hormonal acne pops up. Adding stress of living overseas, planning a wedding, and all the other things going on the past few years- my skin has not been happy with me! I definitely needed to make a change, so I took a little bit here and there from the famous Korean-Beauty skincare routine and i’ve been LOVING IT! I also got my first facial here in Korea- I got the aqua-peel facial and I swear my skin has never felt so clean and hydrated.

Here is the routine i’ve been following and really loving lately, along with links to the products i’ve used that you can get on Amazon! Let me know if you start incorporating some of these into your routine and how you like it. I feel like i’ve only just begun and will keep trying new things and products now that i’ve ventured out from simply washing my face and adding some lotion. I will never go back!

Step 1- Oil based cleanser

I’ve been using and loving Banila CO Clean It cleaning balm. You can put it straight onto your makeup and it will melt your makeup away, even mascara! I rub it in and then add water after it has melted the makeup. Wash off with water.

Step 2- Water based cleanser

I’ve been using COSRX Calming Foam Cleanser but they have a few others i’d love to try like the Good Morning Gel Cleanser and the Low PH Cleanser which comes in a set so you can switch off between the two.

Step 3- Exfoliator

I’ve been using Banila CO Clean It Zero and you only need a small amount each week so it lasts a while. (2x a week so it doesn’t totally dry out my skin)

Step 4- Toner

I chose the BringGreen Tea Tree Toner because tea tree oil can help with acne.

Step 5- Treatments & Sheet Masks

This can be based on your skincare needs! Here are some ones I would recommend based on what you want to try.

I’ve been doing probably 3 sheet masks a week just because you do need to keep them on to soak in for about 20 minutes and I don’t always make time for this step.

Korean MediHeal Intensive Moisturizing Facemasks

Korean MediHeal Collagen Facemasks

Step 6- Eye Cream

Lightly tap under the eyes! I’ve been using AHC Youth Lasting Real Eye Cream

Step 7- Moisturizer

My favorite step! I’ve been using a BringGreen one but I don’t see it on Amazon so here is a COSRX one I think looks great!

I have been adding a few drops of this HydroPeptide Face Oil to my moisturizer to give my face some extra hydration. This is pretty pricey but makes a huge difference.

Here are some other more affordable face oils you could try!

Rosehip Balancing Facial Oil

COSRX Snail Mucin (sounds weird but i’ve heard it is amazing)

Step 8- Sunscreen

Any sunscreen will do! I only do this step in the morning ofcourse.

Notes-

  • I also got an Ice face roller that I like to incorporate sometimes after washing my face, it feel so good and reduces inflammation.
